Data safety

How Eduscape keeps a school’s records private, and what each person using it can see.

Who can see what

Head teacher

Sees the whole school: learners, marks, reports, staff and the finance summary.

Class teacher

Receives a code from the head teacher that opens only their own class.

Bursar

Signs in separately, with an email code each time, to reach the fee records.

Parent

Uses a code that opens one learner only, so other families’ records stay out of view.

Signing in

Keeping records safe

Work is saved on the device as you go and synced to the school’s account when the device is online. Before a school’s online copy is replaced, the server keeps the previous copy as a restore point, so a mistake or an out-of-date device can be rolled back.

Photos, logos, stamps and signatures are saved as image files in a private folder that cannot be opened from the public website.

On the web

The site is served over a secure HTTPS connection, and browsers are told to keep using it. Our pages cannot be placed inside other websites.

What we do not do

What schools can do

Honest limits

No online service can be completely secure, and we do not promise that loss, interruption or unauthorised access can never happen. If you suspect a problem with an account, message us on WhatsApp so we can look into it. Parents with questions about a learner’s records should contact the school first.
